We teach young people from Hong Kong's ethnically diverse communities to use and build with AI. The programmes are practical: participants work on problems from their own neighbourhoods, with tools they can keep using after the event ends.

Design-thinking workshops
Hands-on workshops where young people define a problem from their own community, prototype a response, and test it with real users — the format at the core of our Connect Co-Creation Hackathon: four workshops, eight hours of content, across two Saturdays.

Connect Co-Creation Hackathon
Two Saturdays at Dream Impact, open to ages 12–28, no coding experience required. Teams pitched projects for their own communities using the same AI tools we use in our own work, for prizes of HK$3,000, HK$1,500 and HK$500.

AI literacy & community training
Practical training with partner organisations, from an introduction to AI assistants through to community safety. Our first-ever event was a residential fire-safety training on 30 December 2025, delivered with the Institute of Leadership and Management Foundation (ILM) and instructors from FirexFire HK — every participant used a fire extinguisher, not just watched one demonstrated.
On 26 April 2026, the University of Hong Kong's Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) gave Umeed Connect its Distinguished Service to the Community Award, at the University's 29th Recognition Ceremony — independent recognition of the work these programmes help build.
